Dachau Concentration Camp

Dachau was the first of it’s kind in Germany. Initially in 1933, it was built to hold political prisoners. Like most concentration camps, Dachau KZ (Konzentrationslager), and it’s town share the same name. The camp and town are located a little northwest of the city of Munich (Muenchen). The Reich’s intentions were to begin with political prisoners, then move on to hold Jews, criminals, foreign nationals (POWs).
